Gates’ and Turner In Joint WHO Efforts

LOGAN, Ut- Melinda and Bill Gates were seen Wednesday getting into a private jet with Ted Turner. The jet was taking the trio to Africa where they were to speak with local African officials. Turner and Gates are hoping to teach African societies about common sanitary procedures and how to use medicine. World Health Organization (WHO) is involved with the Gates Foundation in this endeavor. Gates said, “We’re teaching the people to fist, not just giving them the fish.”
Malik Ok, an African Mayor met with the Gates and Turner this week. Ok said they discussed his people’s needs and how to prevent diseases like measles, small pox, HIV, and AIDS from spreading. “People just give us supplies, but we don’t know how to use them,” Ok said. The small village Ok lives in has a high percentage rate of disease and has high hopes for this will help his people.
Turner and Gates have not worked together before, but Gates feels confident that their relationship is good. “Turner approached us in this effort and we both have common goals,” Gates said. Ted Turner had no comment.
